Values and Ethos

Welcome to our school website where I hope that you will find all of the informaton you need. I am very proud to the be the Headteacher of this school; the children within it and the adults who work so hard to support all of the children in reaching their potential.

We are delighted to have been given a 'Good' judgement by Ofsted in our recent inspection (March 2017) and are particularly pleased with the Inspector's comments about our children being 'a joy.'  We take pride in the way our children behave and are so very pleased; they have many opportunities to lead in school and 'soak up every opportunity to take responsibility' (March 2017).  Please follow the link at the bottom of this page to read the full report.

We provide a high quality education in a stimulating and nurturing learning environment. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum that seeks to challenge and stretch the children's abilities, thoughts and attitudes.

We are proud of our rural village location and as a small school, we know that we can give all of our children the attention  they deserve; ensuring that they reach their potential in every aspect.  We know that our school is their first step on the road to a life long love of learning.

As a church school we seek to foster an ethos where Christian values such as kindness, honesty and forgiveness thread through all that we do.  We visit our village church, St Giles, regularly and have a range of joint activities, events and celebrations throughout the year. Please visit our St Giles church page on this site for more information by following the link below.

As a Cambridgeshire school, we work closely with our own cluster of schools and the Local Authority on  developing our own practice to further raise standards as well as contributing to the improvement of schools across the county as part of the county wide strategy for school improvement.  If you would like to read more about this, please follow the link at the bottom of this page.

We are a busy and friendly school, with lots going on. This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing up to date information for parents, pupils and the wider community.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find the information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school directly with any queries you may have on 01487 830342. If you would like paper copies of any of the information on this site, please ask in the school office.
